Christmas shopping saving tips

Christmas shopping saving tips

Christmas is one of the most expensive times of the year and it’s a good idea to start saving a few months in advance. As thousands of you have savings accounts nicknamed ‘Christmas’, we thought we’d share a few tips on how you could save some money this December.

• Make the most of the internet – there are hundreds of shops to choose from
and prices are usually more competitive than the high street. Just remember to
check that the prefix in the web address is https so you know the site is secure

• Many websites offer discounts and promotions coming up to Christmas so hunt
around on discount sites for special promotional codes

• Use comparison sites to make sure you can research the best deals possible on
  your more expensive purchases

• Set yourself a realistic budget and stick to it – this will help you avoid
overspending and be careful if using your credit card as you may pay more later

• Keep an eye out for good deals on wrapping paper in the week before Christmas
as many shops will start discounting it in the last few shopping days

Remember, shop around, have an idea in your head of what you’d like to get for each person and try to avoid panic buying.
